Footrests

Foot Rest Plate

Two pieces of .125" thick steel were cut to 5.375" x 6.125" on the band saw.

The two pieces were stacked and milled simultaneously to a finished size of
5.25" x 6.00".
The pieces was tapped and drilled while stacked.

Footrest Tube

The tube was cut to length with a tubing cutter.

Four pieces of .125" thick steel were cut on the band saw. The four pieces were stacked and milled simultaneously.

All the parts were stacked, then drilled. The stacked parts were thentaken to final shape on the belt sander.

Foot Rest Mounts (Footrest Fork)

Footrest Inserts

Four footrest inserts were turned on the lathe, then drilled and tapped.

Footrest Assembly

The footrest inserts were pressed into the ends of the footrest tubes. The tubes and footrest mounts were placed in a fixture to orient them for brazing. The pieces were brazed together. The asembly was then taken to the mill and drilled and tapped to accept the footrest plates.
